General Admission Information
ACCEPTANCE
Because Butera School of Art accepts students on a rolling admissions policy, each applicant who fulfills all the admission requirements will be notified of acceptance or rejection within two weeks.
Only in the case of unavoidable legitimate circumstances can this procedure
be altered. In certain special cases, the director may waive the standard application procedure, but only if it is in the best interest of the student and the school.
When a student receives a notice of acceptance, he or she is required to submit a $100.00 Advance Tuition Deposit. (See Tuition Refund Policy.) The deposit must be received within 30 days to reserve a seat in the following September’s classes.
If the class should fill before the school receives the deposit, the entire deposit will be refunded. The student will be notified that he or she has been placed on a waiting list and will be contacted at the next available opening.

Butera School of Art is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students. The programs at the school are approved for the training of veterans and for recipients of aid from the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission.
PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE
The school offers placement assistance to all graduates at no additional cost. However, the school cannot guarantee a job to any individual. The director keeps files of all correspondence received from businesses looking for full- and part-time artists.
Instructors are consulted to find the best student to fit the requirements for a particular job referral and whose interests lie in the same area. The job information is then given to the student so that he or she can contact the prospective employer and make arrangements for an interview.
The school also maintains a file of past placement records of our graduates. See page 35 for a partial list of firms that have employed Butera graduates. Graduates are encouraged to inform the school of any changes in placement so that our records are kept up to date.
